The
operational history of Middlesea Valletta Life
goes back to January 1983 when Middlesea Insurance
p.l.c became the first Maltese Insurance Company
to write life business by setting up a Life
Department writing both Individual and Group
Life business. In September 1994, Middlesea
Insurance in conjunction with Bank of Valletta
and Munich Re announced the formation of Middlesea
Valletta Life Assurance Co. Ltd.

Middlesea Valletta Life together with Bank of Valletta successfully established a pioneering Bancassurance operation in Malta through the Bank’s network of 53 branches.
In 1997 Middlesea Valletta Life Assurance
Co. Ltd set up a wholly owned subsidiary company
- Growth
Investments Limited.
The Company was established for the purpose
of:
- Marketing
collective investment funds in the local market;
- Providing
back-office services to its parent company
in connection with Linked Long-Term Contracts
of Insurance;
- Acting
as a financial intermediary for securities
listed on the Malta Stock Exchange;
- Acting
as a selling agent for primary listings of
local corporate securities.
Growth
Investments Limited is:
- Malta's
exclusive representative of Fidelity Funds
SICAV - an open-ended investment company established
and regulated in Luxembourg;
- Authorised
to provide investment services in terms of
the Investment Services Act 1994 and is licensed,
regulated and supervised by the Malta Financial
Services Authority;
- To act as a tied insurance intermediary in terms of the Insurance Intermediaries Act (Cap.487);
- Authorised
to act as a financial intermediary in accordance
with the Malta Stock Exchange Bye-Laws;
- An
authorised Treasury Agent for primary issues
of Malta Government securities.
