Collaboration between MSV Life and Middlesea Insurance and the then Eden Foundation (now Inspire Foundation) goes back 15 years, which makes MSV a pioneer in giving young people over the age of 16 with developmental disabilities, training opportunities and exposure to work environments that reflect their dignity.
The initiative is also intended to help these youngsters develop their social and employability skills which would ultimately enhance their chances to find permanent employment in the open market. MSV Life has since employed permanently one of these young people.
MSV Life and Middlesea Insurance currently have a seconded complement of 14 youngsters between the ages of 23 and 33 years of age with developmental disabilities.
“What originally started off as a CSR Initiative has since turned into a business solution for MSV,” said Chief Officer for HR and Corporate Services Norman Mifsud. “The Inspire Team adds value to our business processes which nowadays we cannot operate without. This win-win initiative has taught us how to maximise efficiency through the variety of skills available. This is the model that MSV Life is now promoting to other public and private entities in Malta.”
During her visit President Coleiro-Preca was presented with a donation by MSV Life and Middlesea Insurance for the Malta Community Chest Fund.
